In the US, hip-hop en español artists have much more of an American influence. Overseas and across the border the content is usually more socially-conscious. The genre has embedded itself into the urban and suburban lifestyles of Spanish-speaking countries and underground movements have permeated Spain, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Mexico.
