Reggaetón hails from Panama but has soaked into Caribbean regions like Puerto Rico and has spread as far as the U.S. suburbs of the Midwest. It combines the Jamaican influences of reggae and dancehall as well as merengue and bachata. The American influence has dumped hip-hop, R&B and electronica into the mix. The genre peaked in mainstream popularity from 2004 to 2007. It has been branded as the urban Latino’s music of choice, even though it consists mostly of artists who would typically belong to the tropical genre. This station is dedicated to bringing together the newest reggaetón music and the genre’s launching classics for a satisfying perreo experience. Hasta abajo, dale con to’!
